There are a myriad of factors that go into the design of any GRM China Records Center. While some aspects of design might change depending on the market we are operating in, there are several design factors that you can count on no matter what.
Location
Locations for any GRM Records Center are selected based on a suite of different criteria. These include proximity to service areas, business environment, environmental issues, disaster risk factors and a host of other issues.
Foremost among these issues is the balance between being close enough to provide timely effective and professional service to clients in the market's business districts, but also being in a location far enough away from those business districts so that the Records Center should remain relatively unaffected by a catastrophic event that hits any of those areas.
Construction
GRM China Records Centers are built from a combination of materials. These include high density concrete for the foundation and heavy floor loads, combined with a steel frame designed to give high clearance. The walls and roof are composed of two layers of steel with a layer of fire retardant insulation between to help reduce fire risks as well as to somewhat regulate the interior temperature.
Ceiling Height
GRM Records Centers typically use 12 meter high ceilings in order to maximize the efficiency of our buildings. We keep this efficiency as high as possible and pass the value on to our customers.
Floor Loading
In order to accommodate the long term storage of all of our heavy boxes and racking, GRM Records Centers have floors that are custom designed to accommodate these special requirements.
Design and Layout
The Design of GRM China Records Centers combines office space for Operations, Customer Service and ... with specialized warehouse space for document management and magnetic and sensitive media storage. GRM also maintains open floor space for our clients to conduct projects on site at GRM as well as staging areas for our operations.
Flood Prevention
Flood prevention at GRM is a serious consideration. First we make sure to select locations in areas where there is low risk of flooding. Second, our facilities are raised 1 meter above ground so that in the event of flooding the likelihood of the flood reaching the level of our facility is very low.
In some of our facilities, we also have our loading areas outfitted with water pumps in order to prevent the accumulation of water This ensures that once water begins to accumulate to a certain level, that ii is automatically pumped out and drained away.
Racking and Tracking integration
At GRM China our spaces are outfitted with custom designed racking, specifically designed to hold different types of document storage containers and in our media vault to hold, tapes and media management containers,.
We integrate this racking with barcodes, assigning each space on a shelf in the racking with a "location" in our tracking system.
Facility Management
GRM has many years of experience managing facilities in different markets. Over the years we have been in the business we have developed a set of facility management guidelines. We use these guidelines to manage everything from general maintenance and maintenance schedules to pest control.
