	GRM has developed a complete process for the secure, certified destruction of your tapes and complete erasure of your confidential information. GRM safely and securely gathers and destroys your sensitive data based on your requirements. Our practices are compliant with the standards set for worlds best practices in all industries. Procedures for the secure erasure and destruction of magnetic media for our clients are performed as follows. 1. Degauss Degaussing is the process by which a concentrated electromagnetic field is focused onto the media. This effectively erases all data on the media within a matter of seconds. GRM uses a degausser designed to erase high-oersted media with 2800 gauss flux field. This includes 4mm (DAT) and 8mm (DLT,LTO) tape cartridges, Diskettes: 3 1/2" and 5 1/4" diskettes, floppy disks, IBM 3480 and 3490 cartridges, TK50 and TK70 tape cartridges, Travan cartridges, VHS and S-VHS videotape cartridges, U-Matic cartridges, Betacam SP cartridges. Applications for Financial institutions, Software duplicators, Security organizations, Military organizations. 2. Shredding In order to guarantee complete security, the degaussed media is manually opened and the actual tape is removed. This tape is then shredded using level 3 security crosscut shredding. 3. Burning Following Shredding, The Operations Agent will then remove the degaussed and shredded contents and the original tape cartridge to an offsite incineration facility where the media is then incinerated under the supervision of a GRM Operations Agent. 4. Destruction Certificate Following the complete destruction of all media, a certificate is issued to the client for documentation purposes. This certificate notes the following for client reference. Item number and description, Operations Agent responsible, Security staff on duty, date and time of each step of destruction.
